Chasing the Northern Lights: A Journey Through Norway

Summary

Back in December of 2022, we embarked on a magical adventure to Norway, with the Northern Lights being the ultimate goal. Our journey began in Oslo, where we spent a night exploring the city before flying north to Tromsø, a place known for its breathtaking aurora borealis displays.

Tromsø was our base camp for an exciting week. We dove headfirst into the local culture, indulging in reindeer feeding, visiting a Sami village, and venturing out on two memorable Northern Lights excursions. The chase was on, and we were lucky to witness the magical dance of the aurora on several occasions.

In addition to the lights, we also made time for whale watching in Skjervøy, a breathtaking experience that added another layer of wonder to our trip. The long drive to Skjervøy was well worth it for the chance to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

After our time in Tromsø, we returned to Oslo for a couple more nights, relishing the chance to explore the city further. Our trip was a whirlwind of adventure, stunning scenery, and incredible experiences that we’ll never forget.
