St. Regis Chicago: Luxury Redefined, Service…Not Quite

The St. Regis Chicago, recently opened in May 2023, sets the stage for a luxurious experience with its prime location and elegant ambiance. As first-time guests at a St. Regis property in the U.S., we were eager to see if the hotel lived up to its prestigious reputation. While the hotel’s opulence is undeniable, there were a few instances where the service fell short of our expectations.

During our stay at the St. Regis Chicago, we enjoyed a Superior King guest room, which was a spacious haven with ample storage, including a convenient mudroom area. The room featured a well-stocked bar cart with a Nespresso machine and tea selections. Although the bathroom was standard, it offered the comfort of plush bathrobes and slippers. However, the room’s views were partially obstructed. While we didn’t extensively explore the hotel’s amenities, the complimentary breakfast tea service was a delightful touch. The hotel also boasts a spa, fitness center, and several dining options, which we unfortunately didn’t have time to experience. The staff we encountered were generally friendly and polite, but we did notice some inconsistencies in service. For instance, accessing the mini-bar proved to be a bit of a challenge, and the turndown service felt rushed. The St. Regis Chicago enjoys a prime location, offering easy access to the city’s attractions and transportation options.

Overall, the spacious and well-appointed rooms, along with the complimentary breakfast tea service and prime location, were definite highlights of our stay. However, we did experience some drawbacks, such as inconsistent service, difficulty accessing the mini-bar, and partially obstructed views from some rooms.
